Every Schengen countries have a hand in more or less the same requirements to issue a visa to a person or party. However, there are some small and slim differences anyhow, which generally depends on the embassy or the consulate. Here are the basic requirements of Schengen Visa:

  1. You must fully fill the application form very carefully with proper information in the corresponding blanks.
  2. One photo is a must to be attached. Remember that, the photo must be passport sized, full-faced, and with a light background. The photo must be a recent one. The older ones are not preferable.
  3. Your passport must have at least three blank pages. It will not be accepted if you have less than that. Your passport along with the other documents and previous visas must be valid for a minimum of 3 months ahead of your departure
  4. You must reserve a copy of your return ticket of you or your family for the time you intend to travel.
  5. You must secure your travel policy of medical insurance. You get an allocation of up to 30,000 Euros depending on your residing days as per the health insurance policy. You must purchase the insurance policy before you pick up your visa.

If you are a minor, then you need some further documents required by the institution. They are stated as follows:

  1. The birth certificate of the minor
  2. The application you submit must be signed by both of your parents. The signature of a single parent is not generally accepted
  3. If in case a single parent has full custody of the child, legal family court is a must to be attached with the application
  4. If the minor is travelling alone, then signed notarized parental authorization must be attached with the application by both the parents

Requirements of Tourist Visa

  1. One type of visa is only applicable if you are planning to visit any of your relatives or friends. If you are planning to visit your relatives and friends, you must submit the details of the relatives address, purpose of visit, and other documents which are specified by the visa type.
  2. A formal invitation letter from the friend or relative residing within the Schengen zone.
  3. A current bank statement of you. It is preferable if it is dated in the last 6 months before you apply.
  4. If you are not visiting any relatives or friends, then you need to give detailed information about your staying days, hotel reservations, etc.

Requirements if the Travel is of Business Purpose

  1. A cover letter explaining the reasons for visiting the Schengen country
  2. A short description of the working place of the applicant (any company or organization)
  3. Original Certified Copy or Trade License or Partnership Documents or Proprietorship
  4. Invitation letter from the associate company belonging to Schengen region
  5. Reservations for hotels and plane tickets
  6. All the expenses of the applicant must be stated in the cover letter or the invitation lett5er from the company
  7. Current and recent bank statements
  8. Letter or invitation from the employer within the Schengen zone describing the purpose of visit and a number of days he is going to spend
  9. If there were any trades in between the two companies before, then an original and valid proof of the event is necessary.

Requirements if the Travel is for Training Purpose

  1. A certificate that shows enrollment at a valid institution for the courses or training someone will be attending within the Schengen countries

  1. A formal letter of invitation of the applicant
  2. The ticket is required if there are any of them
  3. If the applicant is enrolling into a program, then the detailed description of the applicant’s residence (in Schengen zone), and purpose of travel is necessary.

  1. Two applications are necessary to be filled
  2. A formal letter of acceptance or admission in a Schengen country School or College or University
  3. Proof that the applicant is able to maintain himself financially during his/her stay in the Schengen zone
